Creator’s Personal Comment:

You are currently looking at my latest web blog! Included is a wide arrangement of performances, videos, lesson plans, reflections, and anything else of relation over my past assignments and teaching experiences. I stand firm in believing that education is a continuous and evolving process, and this blog simply outlines my experiences I have thus overcome so far in my career. My growth (along with everyone else’s) will forever be building upon a fortress of knowledge and experiences on a daily basis, and I sincerely invite you to join in on my journey of being a successful musician and teacher!

Biography:

Born and raised in Midland, Texas, I graduated from Midland High School in 2010. During my high school career, I was a member of the Midland High Bulldog Marching Band, Honor Band, and Full Symphony and also participated in the National Honors Society and Spanish National Honors Society outside of the music program. In continuation, throughout all four years of high school, I successfully competed in state competitions alongside making distinguishing honors at Texas State Solo and Ensemble.

After high school graduation, I began attending Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts School of Music where I became actively involved in ASU’s Sun Devil Marching Band, became a member of the National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi and began gigging occasionally with Greasepaint Theater as their Principal Hornist.  Aside from staying engulfed in coursework, I continued to teach private horn lessons to various aspiring horn musicians in the Phoenix valley. I graduated Cum Laude, December of 2014.

Continuing my passion of teaching, I began substitute teaching full time in my hometown at Midland Independent School District (MISD) for approximately a year and half. Shortly after, I began teaching full time at my alma mater, San Jacinto Junior High School as the Associate Director. Now, I am currently preparing to enter my third year of teaching at SJ as our school transforms from a Junior High School to a true 6th thorugh 8th grade Middle School!
